House of Hope Receives $3,000.00 from the Walmart Foundation to Purchase Washers & Dryers

House-of-HopeThe House of Hope, through a coordinated effort with the Northwest Arkansas Economic Development District (NWAEDD), received a $3,000.00 grant from Walmart to purchase two sets of energy efficient washers & dryers. The grant will allow the House of Hope to offer clients an efficient method of doing laundry and will ensure that program participants are able to present themselves in a professional manner with potential employers.

“We are extremely grateful to Walmart for offering this grant opportunity,” said House of Hope Executive Director Ken Bailey. “With this generous donation from Walmart we will be able to continue offering laundry services to our clients and will be able to do so in a more effective manner.” continue reading…

NWAEDD hosted a grants workshop with the Arkansas Department of Parks & Tourism to discuss their Outdoor Recreation Grants Program. The event was well attended with all nine NWAEDD counties being represented. Northwest Workforce Development Board to be named

With the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act the Northwest Arkansas Workforce Investment Board will become the Northwest Arkansas Workforce Development Board. Nominations for the Board will be presented to the Chief Elected Officials for approval. The new Board will meet in late July or early August.
