The City of Yellville has been awarded a grant totaling $124,696.00 from the Delta Regional Authority (DRA) to re-open the only publically accessible rail spur on the Missouri Northern Arkansas Railroad. This investment will not only re-open the rail spur but will also improve accessibility to the site for vehicles, along with connecting water/electricity between the spur and the industrial park.
DRA covers 252 counties & parishes across parts of eight states and the Yellville Rail Spur Project is the first DRA investment in Marion County since DRA’s inception in 2000. Yellville Mayor Shawn Lane and Yellville Industrial Development Commission President Lyn Baker brought this project to the attention of NWAEDD staff and have worked extensively with the staff during the application process. The project is scheduled to begin in the spring of 2016 and be completed by late summer/early fall of 2016.
