Congratulations to each of the Arkansas communities who will receive funding through the Outdoor Recreation Grants Program in 2024.
We were proud to see many Northwest Arkansas communities represented at the grant awards ceremony.
NWAEDD is privileged to partner with the City of Huntsville, the Town of Pyatt, the unincorporated communities of Parthenon in Newton County, and Witts Springs in Searcy County to assist in the development and administration of their grant projects. These communities will receive a total investment of $510,000 from the Arkansas Department of Parks, Heritage and Tourism for park improvements.
- The City of Huntsville was awarded a matching grant for $210,000 to construct a splashpad, restroom facility, drinking fountains, and associated accessibility improvements at the Madison County Walking Trail Park.
- The Town of Pyatt received a FUN Park Grant in the amount of $100,000 to construct a new play area, fencing, accessibility features, shaded seating area, and to repair the basketball facility at Pyatt Downtown Park.
. - Newton County received a $100,000 FUN Park Grant on behalf of the unincorporated community of Parthenon to construct a walking trail, pavilion, seating, play area, and accessibility features at Parthenon Community Park.
- Searcy County received a $100,000 FUN Park Grant on behalf of the Witts Springs community to install playground equipment and to construct a pavilion, walking trail, seating, and accessibility improvements in Witts Springs Community Park.
